Escape the norm.
This is a Tejano Music site with a commonality line of balance. Tejano awareness, reasoning, and Tejano music agendas and dialogue are the main principals for all of you. Progress in the advocacy and infrastructure of our Tejano music industry you could say, is the heart and rhythm of my last site in AZ.
Throughout my years music has been right next to me, from Austin Texas to San Jose California, and on to Phoenix Arizona - and to Las Vegas Nevada in 2027. I must admit all of this has been an exceptionally 'long music journey' since the good old days in Austin.Today, well, I am grateful for the many advances in the digital world and how it's used in our modern day ... and in the fast-paced social media platforms, in the turbo-driven music apps, and in the exhilarating and exciting modernistic society.
Tejano music has continued to evolve ...
Yes, evolve and flourish over the years, incorporating influences from rock, jazz, and other genres. Its cultural significance and enduring legacy make it a vital part of Texas’ musical heritage.
Tejano music holds a unique place in the cultural landscape of Texas and beyond, reflecting the Texan Mexican identity in a way that no other genre can.
"With its roots in the blending of Mexican folk music and various regional musical influences, tejano music has come to
represent the cultural and artistic fusion that defines the state of Texas."
Tejano music has been a vital means of cultural expression for generations of Mexican Americans in Texas, providing a means for artists to represent their heritage and connect with their community.
By incorporating traditional Mexican instruments and song structures into their music, tejano artists have been able to preserve the cultural traditions of their ancestors while creating something new and dynamic.
Over the years, Tejano music has also served as a platform for social commentary, with artists tackling issues such as immigration, poverty, and discrimination in their lyrics.
This aspect of the genre has made it an important tool for social justice and activism in the Texan Mexican community.
Tejano music has not only had an impact on the cultural identity of Texas, but on the wider music scene in the United States and beyond.
With its infectious rhythms and lively performances, Tejano music has reached audiences far beyond its home state, inspiring new generations of artists and introducing new audiences to the rich cultural heritage of Texas.

What? And what is TM going to do in Las Vegas?
First, I'm going to create another tejano music site and will be called ... TEJANOmikeLV ...
Secondly, I'm going to look for a nice club - I will work with the manager - then bring tejano music to that club a few nights a week, either weekends or during the week.
If Texas can do this in Austin and San Antonio, why not in Vegas?! Hang on to your hat! TM is coming to Las Vegas in 2027!
In the coming year I'll be working with my two boys, Michael and Gabe to launch new music, new songs and recordings, promotions and entertainment for the Carmona Legacy venture. More announcements coming real soon.

Jan 2026
Tejanomike.net, a Tejano music website created by Mike Carmona (often referred to as TM), has ceased active operations, with the site owner describing it as a "final note" or the last verse of its run.
-
End of an Era: The website owner expressed that while the site created a vibrant Tejano music community, it was time to let it go.
-
Failed Expansion and Communication: In a retrospect post titled "AFTERwords," the site indicated that an attempt to expand and form a larger alliance (including non-profit efforts in Austin) failed due to a lack of teamwork, professional media coverage, and communication.
-
Shift in Perspective: The site's creator noted a struggle to align with the modern, changing landscape of Tejano music, suggesting a disconnect between nostalgic desires and the industry's evolution.
-
Legacy: The site functioned as a hub for Tejano music passion, fostering a community that the creator found difficult to let go of.
Although the main site has stopped its regular updates, the domain remains a testament to the effort to promote the genre in a new city and state: Las Vegas, Nevada - 2027.
Thank you ... for giving this music website a heartbeat and its soul. I guess you could say the final chord has been played, but what a beautiful tejano music run it has been. It was a music passion for me and personally, I can tell you every link and every story was written with so much heart. The closing date is at the end of this month. With music gratitude and love, thanks again.

One more thing - closing remarks:
"All these conclusive events and news bring me to the other side of TEJANOmike. Comparatively speaking and in total music's essence, it is the indispensable quality and the human nature of our beautiful tejano music that compels me to do more. I tried. But presently we're all living in a synchronized, chaotic, market-driven, music-driven modernistic society that we lost our own momentum to change things around."
"Now, on the flipside of normal things and for some unknown reason or just being Mike Carmona in music parallelism, I have always considered ... "Time" ... an important and continuous progression of existence and very important to me. I simply define it as one's lifetime; a person's period of greatest activity or engagement; one's experience during a specific period or a certain occasion; also, a moment in time or in the past. Truthfully, we as tejanos have lost a lot of progressive time to start an alliance of any kind. We lost. In the end and ultimately, it is not what you get or even what you give. It's what you become in life."

Finally, I look forward to moving to Las Vegas, enjoying my new music life, and retirement ... because each day ...
"Brings in a new life chapter, it opens another new path, and each day brings all of us another
window of opportunity for us to face the world all over again."
